Milan Not Pursuing Luis Suarez Despite Recent Reports

Luis Suarez has been surprisingly linked to a move to Milan, but while his agent might have offered his services to them, they have no interest, differently from Monza, which are eager to pull off an offensive coup.

El Pistolero was said to be ‘one step away’ from the Rossoneri, according to AS (via TuttoSport). But that is not the case, Gianluca Di Marzio reported. The Italian champions have not considered him. They already brought in Divock Origi as a free agent earlier in the summer to help out Olivier Giroud.

Suarez might indeed wind up in Serie A, not at Milan but at Monza, the transfer market expert adds. The Brianzoli got in touch with his entourage and tendered €4M wages for one season. It is up to him to decide whether to take it or not. The ambitious newly promoted side is also keen on Edinson Cavani, Sky relays. While they inquired about some international stars, Andrea Petagna is the closest to transferring there. They proposed a season-long loan with a €13/14M conditioned obligation to buy to Napoli.

The Rossoneri will put a veteran under contract up front but one they are already well familiar with, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish ace is currently undergoing intense rehab sessions in a mansion near Garda lake to speed up his recovery. He should put pen to paper very soon, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Our Take on Milan and Suarez

It would not make much sense for the Rossoneri to go after the Uruguayan. If anything, they could use an injection of youthful energy at the position. However, that is unlikely to happen with two options on the roster and few more players that can adapt there, plus Ibrahimovic possibly coming back in January.
