Milan Not so Keen on Adding Eager Brest Starlet in January

Romain Faivre is openly campaigning to join Milan. Despite his words, it is far from certain that the move will indeed happen in January. The Rossoneri are also evaluating other profiles for the role. But they might not make any purchase there in the next window, Calciomercato.com reports.

Both Brest and Milan did not like his interview, which his current club did not authorize. The Rossoneri are not particularly appreciative of the strategy of the player. A similar behavior caused the French team to halt the negotiation right before deadline day.

According to the specialized site, Milan are unwilling to match the €15M price tag. They consider it too high and would rather spend €10M, at most with some add-ons. The deal would have better chances to go through if Samu Castillejo left in January, SportMediaset reports.

Moreover, Milan are still waiting for Junior Messias to provide his contribution. They acquired him from Crotone after the talks with Brest broke off. However, he missed the early portion of the schedule due to lack of conditioning. Then, he suffered a thigh strain in one of his first appearances. He is expected to be available after the third break.

The Rossoneri will evaluate his performances before considering bringing in another attacker. They have been able to cope with their current frontline despite dealing with multiple absences already. Milan have also been linked to Julian Alvarez, although a bidding war appears to be brewing for Argentinian forward. They are looking for alternatives to Faivre, Sky Sport reports.
