Milan Now More Distant from Landing Dortmund and CSKA Objectives

Despite the insistent buzz, Milan might not be able to sign Julian Brandt or Nikola Vlasic in the current window after all. The German winger has voiced his desire to continue playing for Borussia Dortmund. Instead, Zenit has made a serious move to purchase the inventive midfielder from CSKA.

Brandt told TV station RTL: “I have never fueled the rumors personally; they came from the Italian newspapers. Naturally, it is nice when other teams take an interest in signing you. However, I have never asked to leave. I do not think I will play in a different team in the upcoming season.”

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the coaching change, with Marco Rose now at the helm, and the departure of Jadon Sancho changed the scenario. Lazio are also tracking the winger. The Biancocelesti, like Milan, offered a loan with option to buy for a total of €20M.

The Rossoneri risk missing out on another target. Zenit have placed a €25M bid for Nikola Vlasic, and CSKA are wobbling due to their financial difficulties. They are mulling accepting it despite the rivalry between the two sides.  The player would prefer to join Milan, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. Zenit made a rich offer to him as well, but he would accept a lower salary to move to Serie A. The Italian club will evaluate whether to raise its proposal, which, despite the rich sum, consisted of an initial loan. The counterpart wants to get cash right away and slapped a €30M price tag on the Croatian international.
