Milan Offered Chance to Sign Roma Forward

Milan are in the market for a new out-and-out striker to replace Olivier Giroud and fierce rivals Roma might be of help. According to Saturday’s printed edition of Tuttosport newspaper (page 29), Daniele De Rossi’s men have offered Tammy Abraham to the San Siro outfit amid the Rossoneri’s stuttering pursuit of Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee.

Zirkzee is the club’s dream signing. Though the player is equally keen to join Milan, his agent, Kia Joorabchian, continues to throw a spanner in the works. His excessive demands could put the Serie A runners-up off unless he comes to his senses and gives up on an insane €15 million compensation fee.

While Milan are willing to meet Zirkzee’s €40m release clause, Joorabchian’s mind-blowing requests could ultimately derail the deal. The Italians are already exploring the market for alternatives. Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy and Lille’s Jonathan David are among several potential candidates to quench Milan’s thirst for a new center-forward.

However, Milan could shop closer to home. Roma would be ready to ship Abraham to San Siro after De Rossi deemed him surplus to requirements. Out of the club’s plans for 2024/25, he’d be available at €25m. Moreover, his €4.5m per season wages wouldn’t be a problem for Milan.

But whether he’d be a solution to the Rossoneri’s needs remains questionable. Abraham returned to action toward the end of the 2023/24 season after a cruciate ligament injury suffered in 2023 and only accumulated 321 minutes last season. Therefore, Milan might not be overly enthusiastic about this deal.
