Milan Offered Manchester Duo as Alternative Options

Milan are struggling to come to terms with Tottenham about the fee for Emerson Royal and are beginning to take into consideration different fullbacks, for instance, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Manchester City’s Issa Kaboré, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.

The former has been linked with a Serie A move a few times. He has just a year on his contract. The Red Devils are trying to sign Bayern Leverkusen’s star Jeremie Frimpong, which would make him very expendable. He has had a rotational role for multiple seasons in a row.

Kaboré has been offered to Milan by his agents and has a short-term deal like Wan-Bissaka. Manchester City acquired him from Mechelen for €4.5M in 2020. However, he has yet to play for them. He spent the recent seasons at Troyes, Olympique Marseille, and Luton on loan.

As for Emerson Royal, who’s been pushing to join, the Rossoneri and Tottenham remain about €10M apart on his valuation.

Our Take on Milan, Wan-Bissaka, and Kaboré

They should only sign the Spurs man for a relatively low price tag, as he’s not that convincing in the first place. However, first and foremost, they have to decide whether they want an attacking right-back to begin with. Paulo Fonseca alluded to balancing out Theo Hernandez’s aggressiveness with a defensive-minded player. Davide Calabria has been doing it for a few years, and they can turn to Pierre Kalulu too, especially if they spend big for another center-back like Strahinja Pavlovic. Two splashes in the back are unlikely.

  1. Don’t buy Emerson Royal then. Milan oviously can’t afford him, so buy a lesser player for a cheaper price. If Spurs wanted to buy a Milan player, i’m sure Milan would want top dollar for that player. Most Spurs supporters are really bored with the Italian press keep going on about Emerson Royal. At the end of the day, put up or shut up.
