Milan Offered Three Strikers With Expiring Contracts

Milan have reportedly been offered three strikers with expiring contracts as the Rossoneri continue to scour the market for a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. According to MilanLive, Torino’s Andrea Belotti, Liverpool’s Divock Origi and TSG Hoffenheim’s Andrej Kramaric have been offered to Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

The 28-year-old Belotti, a proclaimed Milan fan, has turned down Torino’s attempts to tie him down to a new contract. Il Gallo’s deal is due to expire at the end of the season, and he is seemingly keen to move to the San Siro. The Rossoneri, on the other hand, are the Italian centre-forward’s long-term admirers.

After experiencing an injury-riddled start to the season, Belotti has regained his status as an indispensable starter under Ivan Juric. But Torino’s inability to challenge higher up the Serie A table has deterred their star man from pledging his future to the Olimpico Grande Torino.

In addition to Belotti, Origi is another player that could be on course of switching Milan. The Belgian has found his first-team opportunities at Liverpool hard to come by, especially following the arrivals of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz. Having tumbled down the pecking order at Anfield, he is seeking a way out of Merseyside.

Last but not least, Kramaric, who was a target for Milan last summer, remains an option. The Croatian forward has been a menace for the Bundesliga defences over the past few years. But his career at Hoffenheim is drawing to a close.

However, Milan have a new policy of signing bright young talents, so neither player from the abovementioned trio fits the profile. The Rossoneri are instead interested in landing either Sassuolo rising star Gianluca Scamacca or Alexander Isak of Real Sociedad.

Yet, Milan would have to make a substantial financial sacrifice to capture either of them, hence the Belotti hypothesis continues to live on.
