Milan on the Brink of Acquiring RB Salzburg Prodigy

Milan are close to landing the striker they have been looking for, as Noah Okafor will take the medicals Saturday if they finalize an agreement with RB Salzburg in short order. The Swiss prodigy has long been on their radar, but they have been chasing different targets this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Rossoneri will pay €13/15M for the 23-year-old. He was a hot commodity last year and in January. However, his stocks went down because he broke foot in April. He’s reportedly still recovering from the injury.

Milan are set to grab Okafor for a reasonable fee because his contract runs out in 2024, and he doesn’t want to extend it. He has been playing in Austria since 2020 after joining from Basel for a €11.2M transfer. He has recorded 34 goals and 33 assists in 110 appearances with RB Salzburg. The forward has scored twice in 14 caps with Switzerland.

The Rossoneri are also sprinting to sign Samuel Chukwueze. They have improved the offer and are closing the gap with Villarreal. They could seal the deal for €25M plus bonuses, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

Our Take on Milan and Okafor

Their search took some questionable turns, but the end result is poised to be excellent considering the upside and cost of the deal. They are likely capitalizing on a previous relationship too. He’ll have time to heal and adjust behind Olivier Giroud.
