Milan Player Ratings vs Lazio: Biancocelesti Run Riot Against Rossoneri

Milan put in a dreadful performance at Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday night as they were deservedly beaten 4-0 by Lazio. The Rossoneri defense was unorganised from the start and excellent performances from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Pedro and Luis Alberto helped Lazio to an impressive victory against the current champions.

It was a woeful display from the off by Milan and they failed to get anything going on offense, registering just three shots on target throughout. So, here’s our Milan player ratings for their 4-0 drubbing by Lazio.

Milan: (4-2-3-1)

Ciprian Tatarusanu – 3

Let in four goals and didn’t help his side at all, making just one save.

Davide Calabria – 3

Struggled to deal with the threat of Mattia Zaccagni early on and was troubled down his side by the Lazio attack all game. Caught out of position and failed to win his duels.

Pierre Kalulu – 3

Accurate in possession in the first half but gave away a penalty midway through the second for a clumsy challenge on Pedro.

Fikayo Tomori – 3

Looked a little sloppy early on and could have done better defensively for the opening goal, leaving Milinkovic-Savic free for an easy finish. However, the whole of the defence was equally to blame. Subbed off due to injury midway through the first half.

Sergino Dest – 4

Got beaten in behind by Adam Marusic in the lead up to Lazio’s second of the night. Equally to blame for the opener with poor marking. Slight improvement in the second half.

Ismael Bennacer – 5

Booked in the first half as his poor disciplinary record for 2023 continues. Accurate possession and tried to launch a few balls forward from deep but didn’t do enough here.

Sandro Tonali – 5

Could have tracked back better defensively for the opening goal and created a few chances in the match but failed to impact much overall.

Junior Messias – 3

Unable to make things happen in the Milan attack.

Brahim Diaz – 4

Did little to create for Milan and was subbed off before the hour mark.

Rafael Leao – 5

Tried to get things going for the Milan offense at points in with some good runs in and around the box but he failed to ultimately test the Lazio defense.

Olivier Giroud – 3

Struggled to impact the game and failed to fulfil his role in linking the play.

Substitutions

Simon Kjaer – 4

Replaced Tomori midway through the first half and made a superb block to deny Zaccagni but gave away the ball cheaply in the build up to Lazio’s penalty kick in the second half.

Alexis Saelemaekers – 6

Looked lively when introduced and put in a teasing ball around the hour mark that created Milan’s best chance of the night.

Divock Origi – N/A

Charles De Ketelaere – 5

Picked up a few nice positions when subbed on.

Ante Rebic – N/A
