Milan Prepare Opening Offer to Lure Udinese Starlet

Milan are ready to come out in the open for Lazar Samardzic, whom they have been following for quite some time. The Rossoneri are set to duel with Napoli in the race for the Udinese talent.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the reigning champions will move early to beat out their competitors. They plot to offer €15M for the attacking midfielder. They could include Daniel Maldini, who’s currently on loan at Spezia, to sweeten the pot.

Samardzic has been on the radar of the top Serie A clubs, including Milan, ever since he joined the Friulani two years ago. On the other hand, his progression hasn’t been linear. He had a part-time role in his maiden campaign, starting just once in 22 appearances.

That seemed to have changed at the start of 2022/2023, but he has gone back to being a super-sub lately. The 21-year-old has seen limited action in the past four matches, as the Bianconeri were trying to solve some issues during a skid.

Despite his seesawing role, the prodigy has generally always been able to produce at an adequate clip. He has registered 6 goals and 4 assists in 47 total caps in the Italian league.

Our Take on Milan and Samardzic

His talent is tantalizing, but it would be risky for the Rossoneri to add another mercurial player in the same role as Charles De Ketelaere. Instead, they could do it if they somehow retained Brahim Diaz. It’s odd that he has slightly fallen out of favor at Udinese, although they had some balance problems. It’s also possible that they may have already found a buyer and don’t necessarily need to showcase him.
