Milan Probe Norwegian Star as Pariah Negotiates Exit

Milan continue to search for a new midfielder, and the latest name to pop up on their radar is Sander Berge. The Rossoneri have carried out initial inquiries for the Norwegian international. He has been linked to a move to smaller Serie A clubs in the past.

As per SportMediaset, the reigning Italian champions have deepened their contacts for Midtjylland’s Raphael Onyedika. However, they consider his €7M valuation excessive given his lack of experience. They will keep tabs on him but have moved on to other options for now.

Milan will make room for a midfielder, Berge or somebody else, by getting rid of Tiemoué Bakayoko. Nottingham Forest started negotiating with Chelsea to bring him in. The Frenchman reportedly likes the destination. He is currently set to spend 2022/2023 on loan to the Rossoneri. He’s not in their plans, also because they would have to sign him permanently after a quota of appearances.

The Scudetto winners have been linked to a host of options to replace Franck Kessié. Though, they don’t seem to be in a hurry. Seko Fofana remains highly placed on their list. The Sheffield United contributor has 29 Premier League matches and 34 Championship ones under his belt. He starred at Valerenga and Genk before transferring to the Blades for €23M in 2020.

Our Take on Milan Eyeing Berge

The Rossoneri play hardball at all latitudes, even when fees are relatively low. But, rather than that, they seem to be leaning towards more established players in this case rather than adding another long-term prospect. The Norwegian could be intriguing at the right price. But they might as well wait for the late bargains at this point.
