Milan Product on the Radar of Venezuela and Italy

Daniel Maldini is in the midst of an international dispute, as Venezuela are ready to call him up, but he might prefer waiting for Italy. The attacker has scored once in four matches since coming back to Monza.

The 22-year-old is the son of Milan legend Paolo Maldini and Venezuelan model and entrepreneur Adriana Fossa. Therefore, he’s eligible to play for both countries, Nicolò Schira informs.

After a productive stint on loan, he headed back to the Brianzoli last summer. The Rossoneri let him go on a free but will enjoy a substantial resale clause if he transfers again in the future. He has tallied 5 total goals in 16 games with his current team. He had begun the previous season at Empoli but was hampered by an injury during the summer and never hit his stride.

Maldini has also starred for Spezia in Serie A besides his first club Milan. He logged a few appearances with Italy’s U-18, U-19, and U-20 squads, but not with the U-21 or obviously the senior one.

Spalletti stated that he’s keeping an eye on talent in a presser during the most recent break (via Affari Italiani).

“Maldini and Jacopo Fazzini are very interesting youngsters. We need quality and consistent players who can stay in the game for its entirety. We don’t give a precise task to anybody: they have to be able to do everything. We’re a total and collaborative team. We’re open to welcoming those who showcase their skills.”
