Milan Pursuing Roma Fullback Given Issues in Talks with Man United

Milan are searching for a new right-back as they have been unable to bring Diogo Dalot back from Manchester United. They might get him from Roma, as they are negotiating the acquisition of Alessandro Florenzi, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

The 30-year-old Italian international has played at Valencia and PSG in the last season and a half. The French club did not retain him after the temporary spell. He is not in José Mourinho’s plans and is not practicing with the rest of the squad after the vacation.

Milan requested him on loan with option to buy. It could turn into an obligation if some conditions are met, like the Champions League qualification or a quota of appearances. Roma want reassurances that the purchase would become permanent. The player likes the destination, the transfer market adds. He is under contract until 2023 with €3M wages.

Florenzi has played only for Roma and Crotone in Italy. He has drawn little interest during the summer window. Inter considered arranging a swap with Ivan Perisic. But the Giallorossi signed Eldor Shomurodov and the Beneamata prefer other options for the right flank. They are after Nahitan Nandez and Denzel Dumfries. He was timidly linked to Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, Calciomercato.com informs.

Milan have been in talks with Manchester United to reunite with Dalot. However, the Red Devils want a €4/5M fee for the initial loan. They are considering keeping him on the squad, Fabrizio Romano relays. The Rossoneri have also been tracking Real Madrid’s Alvaro Odriozola.
