Alvaro Morata has tickled the imagination of the Milan faithful by delivering a verdict on his uncertain future at Atletico Madrid. While fighting tooth and nail to sign Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, Milan keep several other avenues open. Though they were long in the driver’s seat to lure the Dutch forward to Lombardia, there’s been a recent twist to the tale.
Erik ten Hag has requested Zirkzee’s arrival, with Manchester United ready to make his wish come true. The Red Devils have reportedly leapfrogged Milan in the race to sign the 23-year-old. There’s still hope for the Rossoneri, but their chances are dwindling.

Morata’s affordable €13 million release clause should be no issue for Milan if they decide to step up their effort to entice him back to Serie A.
