Rafael Leao has been the most consistent Milan attacker this season. He is drawing interest, but the club is ready to re-engage in the extension talks to make sure he stays put. His legal battle with Sporting CP and the Investcorp takeover have slowed things down. However, there is momentum towards the parties striking a deal, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
While Arsenal and Barcelona are simply eyeing him, PSG have taken concrete steps to sign him. They put €70M on the table, but the Rossoneri rebuffed them. They believe he is worth at least €10M more. In reality, they want to have him as one of the cornerstones of the next era of the club. If they sold him, the Italian side would have to give 15 percent of the fee to Lille.
The French champions would give Leao larger wages than Milan, as they proposed €6M per year. The Rossoneri got as high as €4.5M in their latest talks with his agent Jorge Mendes. Directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are likely to stay after the club changes hands. The contractual offer could easily go up in the near future.
The striker is also waiting to settle his legal troubles with Sporting CP. He and Lille will have to pay €16.5M to the Portuguese side. However, the splits are not final yet. Leao reached the double-digit threshold in Serie A play in the Fiorentina match, becoming the most prolific player on the Milan roster. He has bagged 13 goals across all competitions.
