Milan Ready to Join Fray to Sign Monaco Midfielder

Milan have started monitoring another qualify French midfielder, Youssouf Fofana, after reportedly setting sights on Khephren Thuram in recent days. He too is just entering his prime, as he’s 25, and his contract expires in 2025, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.

The Rossoneri signed two players with just a year left on their deals last summer, Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze. They weren’t exactly cheap, but they exploited the situation to convince Chelsea and Villarreal to sell rather than take the risk.

Milan are searching for a more physical midfielder than those already in the squad, and Fofana would fit the bill. He’d be their most defensive-minded option. Their director Geoffrey Moncada knows him well as he worked at Monaco in the past.

The player was quizzed on the matter by Tuttomercatoweb, sidestepping it to focus on the matches.

“I think the Rossoneri are an enormous club. Everybody knows them and their resume. However, chatter aside, I’m fully concentrated on my mission now, which is to help Monaco qualify for the Champions League. Every match will be a final. That’s my focus at the moment.”

Our Take on Milan and Fofana

They are beginning to get busy in a role where they could technically be set already if they wished to. If they sign somebody, it’ll be interesting to see whether he’ll be a pure addition or if they’ll part ways with somebody instead.
