Milan Ready to Launch New Assault on Ligue 1 Star

Milan are looking to pick up where they left off in the summer and complete the signing of in-demand Brest star Romain Faivre. According to Calciomercato, the French playmaker has given his consent for a move to the San Siro, with the Rossoneri ready to close out the deal in January.

Milan came close to signing the 23-year-old in the summer transfer window, but they ultimately failed to find an agreement with Brest. However, Faivre has already informed the club of his intention to secure a high-profile move, putting pressure on the French side to enable his departure.

Brest have slapped a €15m price tag on their prized asset’s head and are reluctant to budge on their demands. Meanwhile, Milan would like to drive the price down, relying on the player’s desire to secure a new challenge away from Ligue 1.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are admirers of Faivre and are already piecing together an offer to get Brest into selling. Milan want to sign the midfielder in January and allow him to see out an impressive Ligue 1 season before completing his switch to Serie A in the summer.

Faivre has enjoyed a stellar domestic season, racking up a staggering seven goals and five assists in 15 Ligue 1 appearances. Unfortunately, Brest have failed to capitalize on the Frenchman’s exploits, as they currently struggle in mid-table.
