Milan Ready to Pounce on Roma’s Zaniolo if Leao Leaves

Milan possess concrete interest in signing Roma talent Nicolo Zaniolo, as they prepare to receive heaps of offers for Portuguese starlet Rafael Leao in the coming windows. Zaniolo has been eyed by the Rossoneri in the past, but current circumstances warrant the greatest interest so far in him.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoJuve) inform that the Italian playmaker is Milan’s number one priority if Leao finds a new home. 23-year-old Leao is tied to a contract until 2024 at Milan, but fantastic recent displays have invited equitable interest from foreign suitors. Much will depend on how contract extension talks pan out the following month.

Zaniolo is in the same boat with the Giallorossi, having so far failed to come to neutral contractual terms with the management. Apart from Milan, Juventus and Napoli are also realistic suitors for the highly-rated attacking talent.

Paolo Maldini is an admirer of Zaniolo’s qualities and so is coach Stefano Pioli. However he is not the only one of interest, with Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech being a potential candidate as well for the Rossoneri.
