Milan Receive Decisive Boost Ahead of Udinese Fixture

United States manager Mauricio Pochettino has done Milan a massive favor ahead of their upcoming Serie A match against Udinese. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the new USMNT head coach released Christian Pulisic in the wake of a 2-0 friendly win against Panama.
Pulisic captained his team in a hard-earned win on Pochettino’s touchline debut on Saturday night. However, the 26-year-old will return to Milan sooner than expected as the former Tottenham Hotspur boss discharged him ahead of a mouth-watering exhibition match against Mexico.
Since Pulisiic will not participate in the forthcoming fixture against El Tri on Tuesday night, he will rejoin Paulo Fonseca’s side early this week. It means he’ll have enough time to rest and focus on training to recapture his best form ahead of a pivotal clash against Udinese.
With Fonseca’s job on the line, Milan can’t afford to take on the early Serie A surprise package without their most in-form star. Pulisic has been in sparkling form this season, racking up six goals and two assists in nine appearances between Serie A and the Champions League.
However, the new Milan manager has barely rested Pulisic, exposing the USMNT winger to potential fitness issues. Pochettino might have recognized signs of fatigue and decided to give the ex-Chelsea star a much-needed breather.
In addition to the Milan ace, Pochettino allowed Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie to pack his bags and return to Europe. Thiago Motta’s side will lock horns with Lazio when Serie A returns to action next weekend.
