Milan Rekindle Interest in Tottenham Young Center-Back

Milan are in the hunt for a defender, having famously missed out on Sven Botman, and they had a meeting with the agent of Japhet Tanganga. The Tottenham youngster was on their radar in January as well. The Rossoneri are likely to take their time to find a new contributor in the role.

As per TuttoSport, the Scudetto winners like the 23-year-old, but they are unwilling to spend much. The Spurs, who will bring in Clement Lenglet from Barcelona and are going after further targets, would like to get €11/12M from such sale. The deal would be more likely if on an initial loan.

Tanganga shares some traits with Milan defender Pierre Kalulu, who can play as a right-back too. A product of the Lilywhite’s youth academy, he has starred in 23 Premier League matches so far and has seen more minutes in the U-23 championship and in the cups. He missed the second half of last season due to a severe knee injury.

The Rossoneri have also been offered another of their previous objectives, Abou Diallo, whom PSG are looking to offload. He would be able to adapt as a left-back. However, the French champions have set a €20M price tag on him, which is dissuading the suitors, RMC Sport informs.

Our Take on Milan Tracking Tanganga

With Pierre Kalulu blossoming and Simon Kjaer reportedly looking good, the position is probably at the bottom of the priorities for the management. Rather than the Spur, they will probably bring in a left-footed youngster to round out their corps. The ability to feature on the flank would be a bonus, as they do not seem to trust Fode Ballo-Touré very much. Among those linked to them, Maxime Esteve and Mattia Viti figure to be better options.
