Milan Reportedly Eyeing Potential Barcelona Outcast

Ferran Torres could be on the move again in the summer, as he failed to earn a major role at Barcelona, and Milan are among the sides keeping tabs on him. The Spaniard headed back to his home country for €55M in January 2022. He could depart for nearly half that sum 18 months later, Fichajes informs (via Sportitalia).

The 23-year-old has appeared in 39 matches this season, scoring 7 times and providing 2 assists. On the other hand, he has started just 13 times in the main competitions. He hasn’t had the impact he and the side expected him to have following the blockbuster transfer.

Milan, Inter, and Juventus are attentively monitoring Torres, who could leave for €30M, the publication suggests. The Catalans have routinely needed to sell players to onboard new ones in recent transfer market windows due to their economic problems.

The 23-year-old is a product of Valencia’s youth academy and transferred to Manchester City in 2020, where he spent a season and a half, hitting the net 16 times, before returning to Spain.

Our Take on Milan and Torres

The Rossoneri will inevitably be in the market for a high-profile winger if they were forced to part ways with Rafael Leao, whose future remains very uncertain, and arguably even if he stays, as their other offensive weapons leave a lot to be desired. The Barcelona attacker is versatile and still reasonably young. If his side does necessitate to cash in on players to pave the way for additions, then there could be some bargains, and Italian teams will surely be looming. Juventus really liked him in the past.
