Milan Reportedly in Advanced Talks with Potential Kessié Replacement

Milan will not be caught off guard if Franck Kessié decides to leave at the end of his contract. The Rossoneri have identified Olympique Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara as a quality replacement for the Ivorian powerhouse. His deal is also up in 2022. They are firmly in the lead to get him on a free transfer, Calciomercato.com reports.

Kamara just scored his first goal of the season against Lorient. According to the site, Milan have been scouting him for three years. They tried to acquire him in the summer in a swap deal involving Samu Castillejo. However, the French team turned down the proposal. At the time, they firmly believed they would eventually reach an agreement to re-up with him.

That has not happened yet, and the 21-year-old rejected their last offer two weeks ago. Milan are constantly in touch with his entourage and are waiting to see what happens with Kessié. They are in advanced talks on the personal terms, but they have not finalized them yet. The Rossoneri have done their work early to fend off the competition of two unnamed Premier League clubs.

Milan will add Yacine Adli to the midfield from Bordeaux next summer. Tiemoué Bakayoko joined on a season-long loan with a conditioned obligation to buy from Chelsea, but he has played very little due to injury so far. The Rossoneri have reportedly not ruled out trying to cash in on Kessié if the extension talks did not progress enough before January. PSG, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona are chasing after the star midfielder.
