Milan Reportedly List Alaves and Palmeiras Midfielders

Milan will focus on the midfield in the next couple of windows and have two more players on their radar, Antonio Blanco and Richard Rios. The former could be an option for January already since his valuation isn’t too high. Instead, the Colombian international will be a summer target since he’s pricey and due to a technicality.

Per Fichajes (via OneFootball), the Rossoneri have laid eyes on the Real Madrid product after Ismael Bennacer’s injury. He’s considered one of the best defensive-minded contributors at the position in La Liga. He’s worth around €5/10M. The 24-year-old initially joined Alaves on loan and was then redeemed for €4M in 2023. He has 49 La Liga appearances under his belt.

While Milan could go for Blanco in the next window, they’ll have to wait to chase after Rios as they filled their quota of extra-EU signings. According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have been following for the past four months.

He was in demand last summer, but Palmeiras refused to negotiate his sale. He had suitors in England and Spain. There’s a €60M clause in his contract. The Serie A side will eventually try to negotiate his price tag if they decide to pursue him. He has posted 5 goals and 4 assists in 93 games with his current side and has 15 caps with Colombia.

Our Take on Milan, Blanco, and Rios

The former could be a flier if they make the call on Bennacer of if he struggles in his rehab. However, considering their recent tactical evolution, they should probably find somebody who could realistically alternate with Alvaro Morata at the no.10 position to use such an aggressive configuration constantly.
