Milan Resume Talks to Onboard Villarreal Budding Star

After substantial inquiries with Porto, Milan have decided to prioritize Samuel Chukwueze over Mehdi Taremi to shore up their frontline. They can sign just one of the two, as they are both non-EU players. Each Serie A team has just two slots for this type of purchases every season. They already signed one in Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Spanish journalist Manu Sainz updated on the Rossoneri’s chase to TVPlay.

“Even though Arnaut Danjuma was reportedly very close to them according to Italian reports, Feyenoord were after him too, but Everton completed a flash deal. They are targeting the winger now. The deal is probable.”

“Milan are the favorites to acquire Chukwueze. The difference between their offer and Villarreal’s request is €10M. They are working to close the gap.”

Per La Repubblica, Il Diavolo offered €25M, while the Spanish side asked for €10M more. The Italian side is attempting to leverage the fact that the attacker has just one year left on his contract.

Our Take on Milan and Chukwueze

Since Taremi wouldn’t be cheap despite his age, it’s fair to prefer investing in a youngster with major potential. It’s interesting that they are pursuing another winger despite having already snatched Christian Pulisic; plus, it doesn’t look like Alexis Saelemaekers will leave. A forward that could play there and also back-up Olivier Giroud would be perfect. They were close to one, Marcus Thuram, but he picked Inter.
