Remi Bensebaini was on the radar of a few Serie A sides in the past, but he won’t move to Italy, even though they had a chance to sign him on a Bosman move. Juventus and Inter dueled for him in previous windows, while Roma inquired when Leonardo Spinazzola was hurt. Milan was a recent addition to the list since they want a new Theo Hernandez deputy.
According to Sky Sports Deutschland, the Algerian international has already signed with Borussia Dortmund. The official announcement will arrive at a later date. He will replace Raphael Guerreiro, who’s poised to transfer in the same fashion.
Milan will have to look elsewhere to address their need as they plot to move on from Fode Ballo-Touré. They are keeping tabs on a few Serie A options, Calciomercato informs. Carlos Augusto would be a high-end one, but he’s expensive and aims to join a big team where he’d be a regular. The same goes for Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi.
Other possible candidates are Lecce’s Antonino Gallo and Cremonese’s Emanuele Valeri. However, if they don’t find somebody to their liking, they might promote Primavera standout Andrea Bozzolan, who’s due to debut among the pros.
Our Take on Bensebaini and the Milan Search for a Left-Back
The Borussia Moenchengladbach staple would have been a good target for somebody seeking a starter, but all the aforementioned teams are set at the position. Unless they need an Italian player for reasons tied to the lists, there’s no need to part ways with Ballo-Touré, as his sale wouldn’t be particularly profitable. It’s unlikely they spend much for somebody that would see only limited minutes.
