Milan Scout Freiburg Talent Sildillia to Boost Backline

Milan’s extensive scouting network has permitted them to tap into unknown talent, and defensive acquisitions in particular in recent seasons speak for themselves. Led by chief scout Geoffrey Moncada, the Rossoneri have brought in the likes of Theo Hernandez, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw etc. – with a couple of them being the first names of Stefano Pioli’s teamsheet.

Latest reports from Tuttomercatoweb indicate that Milan are ready to invest in a deal similar to the one that brought in Thiaw. Kilann Eric Sildillia is the latest player in focus by their management. The versatile defender, who can function as a pure stopper and a wingback, has played a key role in Freiburg’s rise in Germany.

Freiburg acquired him for free transfer during the pandemic, instating him into the club’s reserve team until he was called up to the first squad by Christian Streich in 2021. Sildillia extended his stay at Freiburg just last week, penning a deal with the Breisgau-Brasilianer until the summer of 2026.

Taking note of his recent performances, Milan scouts were reportedly in attendance to watch the Frenchman play during Freiburg’s clash against Juventus in the UEFA Europa League.

20-year-old Sildillia is an academy product of FC Metz’s famed youth development program, which has previously dispatched the likes of Buona Sarr, Kalidou Koulibaly, Miralem Pjanic, Sadio Mané and Franck Ribery.
