Midtjylland Decline First Milan Bid for Midfield Powerhouse

The Rossoneri have made waves this summer window with the onboarding of Charles De Ketelaere and Divock Origi, but remain on the prowl for an apt midfield reinforcement. The departure of Franck Kessie to Barcelona leaves Stefano Pioli with a void in the central midfield area. FC Midtjylland’s Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika is one of the names in contention to join Milan.

As per transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan have offered €4M plus add-ons to the Danish giants, but they want at least €10M – rejecting the bid outright. Negotiations are in the beginning stages between the two parties, and further talks are expected to take place soon enough. Paolo Maldini is understood to be keen on sealing the deal in the coming week.

Milan had set sights on Renato Sanches for the larger part of the transfer market, including the previous one, but eventually fell out to French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the race. With two weeks remaining in the summer window, Milan will come back with a new offer for 21-year-old midfielder Onyedika, before it shuts close on September 1st.
