Milan Set Sights on Two Premier League Midfield Talents

Milan have gathered intel on Pape Matar Sarr during a recent meeting with Tottenham director Fabio Paratici and have also inquired with Aston Villa about Carney Chukwuemenka. The two midfielders might be on the move this summer.

As per Sky, the Rossoneri held a summit with the Spurs to ask for the loan of Japhet Tanganga, who is one of their main defensive targets. They did the same for the 19-year-old, whom the Lilywhites acquired from Metz for €17M in 2021. He temporarily stayed with the French team in the most recent season. He accumulated 55 total appearances in Ligue 1, logging 4 goals and 3 assists.

On top of Sarr, Milan have collected info on another prospect in Chukwuemenka, Calciomercato reports. He has just a year on his contract with Aston Villa. However, his price tag remains significant, as his side demand €20M to part ways with him.

The 18-year-old has starred in 14 Premier League matches, while he has gotten consistent run in the U-23 championship. Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are also eyeing him. At this stage, he does not want to extend his contract with the Lions. Therefore, the Rossoneri hope a €10M price tag could be enough to snatch him.

Our Take on Milan Eyeing Sarr and Chukwuemenka

The Scudetto winners appear to be moving away from Renato Sanches, whose saga is getting tiresome. They have the luxury of bringing in a youngster since Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer are rock-solid starters. They already struck oil with cautious deals and formulas in the past. There could indeed be the opportunity to replicate that this summer as well. The former would come in a little more seasoned, while the latter likely has a little more upside and dynamism.
