Milan Set to Get Transfer Market Boost from Former Misfits

Milan are preparing for a busy summer, where they will be active in the transfer market. While winning the Scudetto would have a significant windfall, they are highly likely to receive a decent cash infusion from previous fringe moves.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri could get up to €20M from players not currently on their roster. Leo Duarte is faring well on loan to Istanbul Basaksehir. The Turkish club signaled that they plan to buy him out for €5.5M. He was acquired for €10M from Flamengo in 2019, but he did not play much in Serie A and departed in January 2021.

Milan will obtain €12M to foot their transfer market plans from Eintracht Frankfurt for Jens-Petter Hauge. The clause to acquire him permanently will be activated, as they will easily avoid relegation. The Rossoneri could also cash in a €3M bonus from Atalanta as part of the Matteo Pessina deal. It will be triggered by his 100th appearance with La Dea, and he is currently at 89. With ten Serie A matches to go and at least two more opportunities to play in Europa League, it is possible.

Venezia have a €4M option to sign Mattia Caldara, who has been solid. He would return if they got relegated, or even if the Arancioneroverdi avoided the drop, as they have no obligation. Milan could keep him for depth purposes, as they might need to sign Italian-grown players in the next transfer market window. He has also drawn interest from Torino and Verona, the site adds.
