Milan Set to Sign Ligue 1 Prodigy

Milan could reportedly be on the verge of signing the highly-rated Bordeaux midfielder Yacine Adli. Calciomercato claims the Serie A runners-up have an agreement in place with the France U21 international.

The same source goes on to say Milan will pay around €10m plus add-ons to complete the transfer.

Adli’s eye-catching performances for Bordeaux have earned him a reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in Ligue 1. Despite Les Girondins’ on-field problems, compounded by growing of-the-pitch issues, the 21-year-old has managed to put his skills on display.

Bordeaux stare at massive financial turmoil and will likely have to offload several first-team members to balance the books. Since Adli is arguably their most valuable asset, the youngster looks to be the likeliest candidate to leave the Matmut Atlantique this summer.

Adli learned his trade at the Parc des Princes before swapping Paris Saint-Germain for Bordeaux in 2019. A paltry return of two goals and five assists from 35 Ligue 1 outings last season might be deceiving. Indeed, the Frenchman possesses technical qualities and much-required football audacity to unlock the opposition defenses.

With Hakan Calhanoglu gone, Adli is the type of player Milan need to fill the creative gap in the midfield. Franck Kessie’s recent injury has piled more pressure on Paolo Maldini as the transfer market approaches the final stage.

Milan have to add another midfielder as the Rossoneri prepare to compete on multiple fronts next term. Sandro Tonali and Tommaso Pobega have not done enough to convince Stefano Pioli that they can fill in for Kessie. That leaves Ismael Bennacer as the only reliable option.

Per some reports, Milan are also working on a deal to bring Boubacar Kamara from Marseille.
