Milan are on the prowl for a left-footed defender and have earmarked Strahinja Pavlovic, who has been shining with RB Salzburg for a few seasons and has been linked with a Serie A move multiple times in recent years. He almost joined Lazio back in the day, but he didn’t pass the physical tests, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
He reportedly told a fellow national team member that he’d like to move to Italy this summer. The Rossoneri and Napoli would be the most logical landing spots. The former have a tight relationship with his club, from which they acquired Noah Okafor in a flash deal last year.
Milan and the other sides interested in Pavlovic would have to invest €20/25M to sign him. His trajectory suggests his value will go up in the coming campaigns. The Rossoneri want to add a defender but they are numerically fine in the back for now. It’s unclear whether they’ll proceed without a departure first. Newcastle United recently inquired about Malick Thiaw.
The 23-year-old already has 38 caps with Serbia. He’s a Partizan product and moved to Austria after a failed stint at Monaco and consecutive loan spells at Cercle Brugge and Monaco.
Our Take on Milan and Pavlovic
He’s been on the Serie A team’s radar for a few years, and multiple ones are seeking a lefty this summer. The time might be ripe, even though his team is a hard bargainer and he’s under contract until 2027. If Riccardo Calafiori moves to Arsenal, the fray for Jakub Kiwior will commence quickly, and he could be the consolation prize afterward.
