Milan Sign Teenage Sensation Termed ‘Next Vlahovic’, Confirms Red Star Director

Milan have secured their first signing of the winter transfer window, having scouted the market long enough for reinforcements. Although a defensive signing would have made more sense for the Rossoneri, they welcome an attacker on board.

As confirmed by Red Star Belgrade director Zvezdan Terzic, teenage striker Marko Lazetic has successfully been signed by Paolo Maldini’s management. Lazetic arrives as youngster Pietro Pellegri’s direct replacement, after he moved to Turin on a short loan deal until the end of he current campaign from AS Monaco.

Lazetic arrives for a paltry sum of €4m plus bonuses, and a percentage of future resale for the Serbian giants. He has been scouted by Fiorentina, RB Salzburg and Zenit St. Petersburg among other teams, with some of the clubs even offering him mouthwatering deals. But in the end, it is Milan who hve won the race for his signature.

Speaking to Serbian outlet Telegraf.rs (via Calciomercato), Crvenza Zvezda director Terzic reveled in the 18-year-old striker’s transfer to San Siro.

“There has been the interest of big clubs for Lazetić, we have had offers from Zenit, Salzburg, Fiorentina. These are indications that pay off the enormous investments in our youth sector, which cost us three million euros a year.

The transfer of Lazetic to Milan is an indication of the good work done in the Yesterday we agreed everything with Milan, now I expect Lazetic to negotiate his conditions and sign the contract.”

The legendary Dejan Savicevic was the last player to have moved to the Rossoneri from Red Star ranks and Terzic has quick to point that out.

“For the Red Star it is a great recognition to have their own player at Milan after 30 years,” he concluded.

For an 18-year-old, Lazetic has already scored 7 goals in 21 appearances for Red Star across all competitions this season. He has been touted to take the footsteps of fellow Serbian hotshot Dusan Vlahovic, as Lazetic prepares for life in Serie A after coming through the ranks of Red Star Belgrade – the same way Vlahovic emerged as a powerhouse from deadly rivals Partizan Belgrade.
