Milan Still Interested in ‘Gladbach’s Koné and Rabiot

Milan continue to seek ways to shore up their midfielder and still have Adrien Rabiot and Manu Koné in their crosshairs. They parted ways with two fringe contributors, as Tommaso Pobega and Yacine Adli have joined Bologna and Fiorentina respectively. However, that won’t be enough for a high-profile addition, Calciomercato informs.

The Rossoneri need the departure of Ismael Bennacer toward Saudi Arabia to have room and resources for a final coup. They want €30M, but the bids haven’t been that high for now. They might arrive after deadline day. They’d be able to replace him only with the former Juventus star at that point.

Milan are in advanced talks with the camp of Koné, while their offer for Rabiot is inferior compared to his previous salary. The former would earn €3M annually. On the other hand, they haven’t struck a deal with Borussia Monchengladbach at this stage. His price tag is around €20M.

The veteran was making €7.5M in Turin and is seeking comparable or higher wages. Instead, the Rossoneri have put €5.5M on the table but in a long-term deal, a four-year one, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.

Our Take on Milan, Koné, and Rabiot

The youngster would be a more typical purchase for them, but there might not be time for the domino to unfold. The ex-Old Lady star would be an odd one given their usual policy, and whether he’d accept that contract is a big question mark and probably unlikely. Still, it’s something to keep an eye on because, unlike the other acquisition, it could come together in September.
