Milan Submit Offer for Iconic Real Madrid Wingback Marcelo

Legendary Brazil wingback Marcelo bid farewell to Real Madrid as their most decorated player in history, racking up 25 trophies during his time there, ahead of club icons such as Iker Casillas, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Sergio Ramos, and Milan are reportedly as one of the sides eyeing him.

The fact that he has not announced his retirement from professional football yet means that other European clubs, along with other continental suitors, are on high alert regarding his availability as a free agent.

As per Spanish outlet Diario AS, Milan have emerged in pole position with the highest bid to sign Marcelo as a free agent. An offer of €3M net per season was reportedly submitted over the weekend, but the former Merengues vice-captain is uninterested in earning less than his existing €6M contract.

The Rossoneri have not ruled out improving on their proposal but will have to move fast for the veteran, who is also on the radar of French giants Olympique de Marseille. Ronaldo, the owner of Real Valladolid, also reportedly dreams of onboarding his fellow countryman alongside legendary Barcelona right-back Dani Alves, according to UOL Esporte (via Marca).

According to Calciomercato, Milan could part ways with their current Theo Hernandez backup Fode Ballo-Touré, who is being tracked by Trabzonspor, making room for another left-back.
