Milan Table Contract Extension Offer for Veteran Giroud

Milan veteran Olivier Giroud is enroute a contract extension at the Rossoneri, perhaps extending his deal to a further year. Giroud was an unrivalled protagonist in Milan’s run to the Scudetto title last season, and he has been ever-present this campaign as well. The club management want to tie him down to a new deal.

As per latest reports from Corriere dello Sport, a renewal deal is on the table for the 36-year-old Frenchman who became an instant hit at San Siro since arriving from Chelsea. It is reported that the new contract will keep him at the club until 2024, after which he will have the choice to sign for a further year, albeit with the same terms of contract.

His contract expiry in June 2023 means that he will be free to talk pre-contract terms with interested suitors, but there’s no indication he would like to move elsewhere. Pioli has relied heavily on Giroud’s services and the club directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are all for the idea of keeping him put.

Giroud has 9 goals and 5 assists for Milan this season in 19 appearances across Serie A and UEFA Champions League.
