Milan Target Zirkzee Alludes at Staying Put at Bologna

Joshua Zirkzee will be highly sought after in the summer but didn’t rule out spending another campaign at his current club in an interview with Corriere di Bologna.

The Dutchman believes he’ll measure up with the Champions League.

“I must believe I can be and have confidence in my means. It wouldn’t make sense to think the contrary. We already faced some strong teams in Italy. We don’t know the competition but we’re aware of its level. Serie A is difficult and high-quality. It will be a very exciting challenge. I haved dreamt about playing in it since I was a kid. I won it with Bayern Munich, but it was almost as if I didn’t participate with them. Now it’s my turn to experience that moment.”

Zirkzee reiterated to be exclusively focused on Bologna.

“My focus is only here. I want to recover from my injury, have a nice vacation in the United States with my childhood friends, and then see what happens. Eventually, I’d choose what’s best for the team. I’ll do what makes the most sense in my heart.”

“I believe playing the Champions League here would be different than doing so in another team. It’d be wonderful to defend this objective together. The celebrations were unforgettable.”

Our Take on Zirkzee and Bologna

Considering a manageable release clause, it’s entirely up to him to decide what to do. A permanence seems like a real possibility if he’s not in a rush to level up and earn richer wages.
