Milan Test the Waters for Torino Disgruntled Star on Expiring Deal

The contract of Andrea Belotti is up in June 2022. Torino president Urbano Cairo had some worrying remarks about his future from the Granata perspective. Milan could try to exploit the situation. They have reached out to the entourage of the striker to inquire about his intentions, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

The Torino chairman spoke yesterday from a festival in Trento: “Belotti has not signed yet, and I do not think he wants to. I have made an offer that goes beyond my means. I can not force him to accept it, though.”

The Italian attacker has missed the last few matches due to a lingering lower leg contusion. He should return after the break. According to Calciomercato.com, Torino proposed €3M per year, while he asked for a €4M salary plus add-ons and a signing bonus. The gap is wide.

In the past window, Inter, Roma, Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina showed interest in Belotti. But they did not place substantial bids to Torino. The only official one came from Zenit, but the player turned it down. Milan are considering making a run at him considering their aging front-line.

There is no guarantee Zlatan Ibrahimovic will stay at the club since he is 40 and has routinely dealt with injuries. The only certainty is Olivier Giroud, who is under contract till 2023. Pietro Pellegri joined on loan with conditioned €6M obligation to buy and has not been much of a factor thus far. Belotti has accumulated 231 appearances and 106 goals with Torino since 2015. He could be looking to transfer to a bigger club this time around.
