Milan Tipped to Accelerate Their Interest in Miranda

Milan have long laid eyes on Real Betis left-back Juan Miranda ahead of a Bosman addition. However, the recent injuries will push them to try signing him in January to replenish their defense. The Rossoneri have left the other contenders in the dust and are in advanced talks on personal terms, Tuttomercatoweb informs.

They’ll also have to reach an agreement with his side to onboard him in the next window. The Spanish outfit might accept a 2/3M fee if they realize they have no shot of keeping him. Their director Ramon Planes hasn’t completely lost faith yet:

“We have been discussing his extension so he would continue with the club. There must be a mutual intention to achieve that, and both desires have to be respected. Ours is that he would prolong his contract.”

According to the publication, Milan wanted to sign Miranda through a swap with Alexis Saelemaekers last summer, but the parties didn’t come to an understanding. The Belgian winger eventually moved to Bologna.

The Rossoneri recently lost Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino to long-term injuries.

Our Take on Milan and Miranda

While they have three solid options in the middle of the defense despite the absences, they are back to square one on the flanks, with Alessandro Florenzi backing up both starters. It’s unsustainable, and they should definitely add somebody in January. He’d be an okay choice provided the cost of the deal was very low.
