Milan Tipped to Be Keen on Torino Midfielder Ricci

Milan will focus on finding one or more defenders in the early days of January, but they could also sign a midfielder if Rade Krunic departed, and they tested the waters for Samuele Ricci. The Rossoneri expect Ismael Bennacer to be called up for AFCON. They lost Tommaso Pobega to a long-term injury.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, they held preliminary contacts with his camp. Torino rebuffed Lazio in the summer, but he hasn’t had a great season so far. He has logged 2 assists in 13 appearances and recently dealt with a calf problem.

While Milan have taken an interest in Ricci, his price tag could be an issue. Per OneFootball, the Granata asked Lazio for €30M last summer. Their request probably hasn’t decreased. He’s under contract with them until 2026.

The 22-year-old moved to Turin in a €8.5M transfer from Empoli in July 2022. He has amassed 58 caps, scoring twice and providing 3 assists.

Our Take on Milan and Ricci

He’s an easy fit in any side considering his versatility and all-around game. He has been outshined by Ivan Ilic this year, and they haven’t teamed up consistently enough yet to make it work swimmingly. Still, it’s probably just a matter of time. While the Granata are generally open for business if the bids are proper, it usually happens in the summer. Plus, the Rossoneri need to take care of other roles first, and Krunic is far from certain to depart.
