Milan to Get at Least One Player Back from Injury List

Milan lost Pierre Kalulu to a serious thigh injury, but they are set to have at least one player back from the shelf for the next game, Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The midfielder returned to full training Thursday. He will most likely be a bench option versus Udinese, Corriere della Sera informs (via Tuttomercatoweb).

The Chelsea youth product has missed the last five games due to a groin/thigh injury. The Rossoneri have won just once while he was sidelined. They topped Genoa due to a controversial late goal.

Loftus-Cheek might not be the only one coming back from injury. Simon Kjaer is feeling better after missing the last game with muscle fatigue. He has better chances of being available than Christian Pulisic. He hasn’t done much in practice since bowing out at half-time of the clash with the Partenopei due to a contracture.

Primavera defender Jan-Carlo Simic has been promoted to serve as a deep option in the back while Kalulu, Marco Pellegrino, and Mattia Caldara are on the mend.

Since Samuel Chukwueze is hurt too, Stefano Pioli doesn’t have a lot of choices for the right wing other than Luka Romero, who has been underwhelming so far. The alternatives would be adapting Noah Okafor, who’s more comfortable on the left, or Alessandro Florenzi, who has played exclusively as a fullback in recent years. Yunus Musah could also do it. However, they would need him in the midfield if Loftus-Cheek didn’t start.
