Milan to Go All-In to Sign Roma Striker After Fullkrug Fiasco

After suffering defeat in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Niclas Fullkrug to West Ham United, Milan will reportedly turn their attention toward Roma outcast Tammy Abraham. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Rossoneri coach Paulo Fonseca has identified the former Chelsea striker as his top priority in reinforcing the attacking department.

Despite bringing Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid, Milan remain in the market for another center-forward after parting with Olivier Giroud at the end of last season. The Serie A giants have explored several avenues since the start of the summer.

But after missing out on Fullkrug’s signature and relinquishing their interest in Napoli-bound Romelu Lukaku, Milan will try to capture Abraham. The Englishman’s services are no longer needed at the Stadio Olimpico after Roma and Girona agreed on a deal for Artem Dovbyk.

The Ukrainian star will join Daniele De Rossi’s side for a reported fee of €30.5 million plus €5.5m in add-ons. Dovbky’s arrival will likely accelerate Abraham’s departure, with Milan ready to pounce. They could offer Luka Jovic as a counterpart to sweeten the deal and cut expenses.

Another scenario could see Jovic and Abraham swap allegiances on loan. That would be an ideal solution for Milan as they operate on a tight budget and have already splashed out €18m to sign Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic from RB Salzburg.

Milan seems to be Abraham’s favorable destination amid speculation Premier League strugglers Everton have set their sights on the out-of-favor Roma man.
