Milan to Make Room for New Winger with Two Departures

Milan are determined to bring in a top-notch right winger in the summer. While Alexis Saelemaekers is likely to stay, the Rossoneri are considering partying ways with Junior Messias to open up a spot on the roster. Instead, Samu Castillejo is definitely on his way out since he has seen scarce playing time.

According to Calciomercato, the Spanish attacker will likely head back to his home country. Valencia recently expressed some interest in onboarding him. He has featured in just over 120 minutes so far this season. He was on the verge of moving to Russia in September.

Messias has been a consistent starter down the stretch, but that does not necessarily mean he will stay. Crotone got relegated to Serie C, which may lead to a discount on his €5.4M option to buy. Milan paid €2.6M last summer for the initial loan spell of the Brazilian winger. On the other hand, he was a fallback plan after the Romain Faivre deal collapsed. The Rossoneri could let him go to avoid a logjam at the position.

Domenico Berardi is their primary target for the role, TuttoSport informs. Stefano Pioli is a big fan of the player, and Sassuolo appear more open to letting him go than in the past. Instead, Marco Asensio and Riyad Mahrez are rather unlikely objectives. A sliver of hope on those fronts is fueled only by the fact that the new owners might want to kick off their era by making a splash on the transfer market.
