Milan to Reinstate Bennacer, Rabiot Turns Down Offer

There wasn’t much momentum about Ismael Bennacer transferring to Saudi Arabia, and, in fact, things didn’t change on their deadline day. He hasn’t received interest from Turkey, where the market ends in ten days. He’s fully expected to stay put, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Algerian talisman didn’t train for a few days last week because his future was hanging in the balance and wasn’t in the squad for the Lazio match. He’ll be re-integrated during the break, and Paulo Fonseca will decide how to utilize him.

Milan signed Youssouf Fofana this summer, and their go-to midfield duo will be him plus Tijjani Reijnders, relegating Bennacer to a secondary role. The veteran has struggled to regain his best shape following a knee cartilage injury that cost him five months.

The offer from Al-Qadsiah was low considering to the club’s request. The most concrete negotiation was a loan to Olympique Marseille, but his high wages made it hard to strike a deal.

The Rossoneri pursued Adrien Rabiot as a potential replacement, but he has turned down their offer. He’s waiting for Barcelona or perhaps a Premier League side. They had dangled a €5.5M annula salary for the next four years.

Our Take on Milan and Bennacer

They are quite in a pickle, as they could definitely use the best version of him, especially as a Reijnders deputy or if they ever switched to a three-man line permanently, but he’s been a shell of himself since returning. The problem is that he’d need to play to bounce back, but they don’t have the time to wait for him.

  1. What’s special about Rabiot? Go watch Spain vs France just concluded Euro 2024 and see how a little boy William mesmerized him. Go look the video again so let him go to turkey where soccer is easier. Garbage player. Little boy William flawed him hahahaha
