Milan to Try Again to Snatch January Targets in the Summer

Milan had to settle with signing just Marko Lazetic in January and delayed the chase of multiple players to the summer. The Rossoneri did not have a big budget and were mostly looking for additions on loan with option to buy. The situation will change at the end of the season, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Franck Kessié is most likely headed elsewhere. However, directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will try to extend his expiring contract until June. Lille’s Renato Sanches is the top candidate to substitute him, although he has a €30M price tag and demands lofty wages.

Milan will go after Sven Botman again next summer. The Dutch defender is poised to leave, as he told Ziggo Sport: “I feel like I am ready for the next step. The Rossoneri are a wonderful club. Newcastle have a nice project too, if you look at where PSG and Manchester City started. It would be nice to be part of it.”

The deals with Lille might not stop at the duo, as Jonathan David is an option to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Milan will wait until the summer to make the call on the future of the veteran striker. The Canadian forward would be extremely pricey, though.

The Rossoneri are also eyeing Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak and Club Brugge’s Noa Lang. They are working to avoid bidding wars for the Dutchman, the publication adds. The Rossoneri missed out on previous offensive objectives Romain Faivre, Randal Kolo Mouani, and Julian Alvarez during the winter.
