Milan have not accelerated after missing out on Sven Botman, but they still plot to add a reliable defender this summer. They have been laying the groundwork especially for Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga, while Even N’Dicka is the latest addition to their shortlist.
According to SportMediaset, Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is currently in Italy. He will likely meet the Rossoneri, which already talked with the agent of the English center-back. They want to replicate the deal they did for Fikayo Tomori in the past, who joined on loan with option to buy. Instead, the Spurs prefer an outright sale or at least insert the obligation to purchase him in a year.
As per Sky, Milan are waiting to fully assess Simon Kjaer’s conditions before making a decision about a new defender. The Dane is recovering from an ACL tear and has not participated in the friendlies. He will have a final consult soon. Depending on how it goes, the management will decide whether to make a splash in the role or opt for a cheap addition.
The Italian champions have had some recent contacts for N’Dicka, who has also been linked to Roma. He has just a year on his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt. He joined in 2018 from Auxerre. Since then, he has accumulated 138 appearances, tallying 10 goals and 9 assists.
Our Take on the Milan Search for a Defender
Regardless of Kjaer’s status, the Rossoneri need another option, preferably a young and left-footed one to round out their ranks. Even better if he could feature as a left-back. N’Dicka fits the bell better than Tanganga and a lot of other names reportedly on their radar. But it is famously arduous to negotiate with his team.
