Milan UCL Encounter Set to Snowball Mbappé Emotions

Kylian Mbappé is set to lead Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League group stage clash at Parc des Princes against his favorite boyhood club as he faces Milan for the first time in his professional career. The World Cup winner has professed his admiration for the Rossoneri colors time and again, and it is expected to be a special game for the 24-year-old forward.

It is understood that Mbappé grew up as a Milan fan, thanks largely to his Italian nanny and neighbors who were Rossoneri themselves, as they cheered for the red and black divide.

His mother mentioned his love for Milan recently: “When he came home, he would only talk about Milan. If Milan lost, he could throw the remote control at the TV and say a few bad words in Italian.” The forward himself revealed his liking for Milan at a FIFA event, saying: “What if I play in Italy in the future? If I come it’s only for Milan.”

Having grown up supporting Milan in his teenage years, when the Carlo Ancelotti-led Rossoneri hit one of their peak periods with the likes of Ricardo Kaka, Andriy Shevchenko, Paolo Maldini, Clarence Seedorf and a host of other superstars in the team, the game is set to hit close to home for Mbappé.

Despite the emotions at play, Mbappé will be eager to score against Milan, the club he idolized as a youngster and inflict perhaps a third winless UCL game on the trot for the visitors. PSG themselves are looking to bounce back from their heavy 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
