Much like the Old Lady and Massimiliano Allegri, the call shouldn’t hinge exclusively on results. If they aren’t completely on board, they should pull the trigger. Surely, they shouldn’t keep him as a lame duck, which would lead to constant damaging chatter next season. Appointing somebody with no Serie A experience would be a big risk even if he’s a high-profile manager. It wouldn’t be the easiest route to return to winning ways.
