Milan Very Close to Acquiring Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea

Milan are on the verge of landing the first piece to rebuild their midfield, Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea. The two clubs are finalizing their agreement. The player has long okayed to move since he wants to feature more.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Rossoneri will pay €16M plus add-ons for the Englishman. The deal should be concluded in a matter of days. They are keen on Christian Pulisic too, but the parties are distant at this stage. The Blues demand €25/30M, while the Italian side doesn’t want to shell out more than €15M.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek won’t be the only addition in such a role for Milan. They are keeping tabs on AZ Alkmaar’s Tijjani Reijnders. He’s open to transferring, but there’s no consensus on the figures. The Rossoneri like Yunus Musah, but there’s been no direct talk with Valencia so far, Relevo reports.

Per Tuttomercatoweb, Il Diavolo is examining whether to lodge an offer for Sofyan Amrabat, who will depart Fiorentina this summer. The sellers request €30M. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are having trouble coming to terms with the Viola.

Our Take on Milan and Loftus-Cheek

He’ll be useful tactically given his versatility, and he still has some untapped potential despite his age, but it’s an odd purchase. The Rossoneri were supposed to prioritize high-upside talents after ousting Paolo Maldini. Moreover, if they don’t renege on their agreement with Daichi Kamada, this will be it for non-EU additions since there are only two slots. It would rule out more fascinating options like Samuel Chukwueze and Arda Guler.
