Milan Will Sell Real Madrid Target if Renewal Conflicts Arise

Portuguese starlet and matchwinner against Napoli, Rafael Leao is still in the dark surrounding his contract situation at Milan. The Rossoneri management wants him to stay, laying a €6M net per season offer on the table, which he has not accepted, and in turn demands a €7-7.5M deal including bonuses.

He currently earns €1.4M net per season.

Leao’s contract expires in Jun 2024, and according to Cadena SER’s Francisco Jose Delgado, Milan will sell the forward if the two parties fail to negotiate terms of contract before the start of the next season.

Real Madrid have keep constant tabs on the pacy winger, as have Paris Saint-Germain. However, it is the former club who have an element of leverage if talks arise, since they could also involve Brahim Diaz as part of the deal.

Diaz is bound to return to Los Blancos for the 2023/24 season, but Milan want him to stay. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara both wish to see the Spaniard continue wearing the Rossoneri jersey, and the reigning European champions could use this to their advantage by using him as a counterpart in a bid to reduce Leao’s transfer fee.
