Milan Working to Retain Two Loanees from Real Madrid and Man United

Milan want to keep both Diogo Dalot and Brahim Diaz after their productive loan spells in the 2020/21 season. The two players are on the same page, and the management is looking to find the right formulas with Manchester United and Real Madrid, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The Red Devils initially intended to bring back Dalot, but the fullback told them he would prefer to stay in Italy. The negotiation between the two sides is at its early stages in this case. The Rossoneri are waiting to see what the price of the operation would be before making the next move.

The talks with Real Madrid to keep Diaz are instead more advanced, also because of the strong relationship between the two teams. He will not return with the same method, but a two-year loan with an option to buy could be a fitting solution. Milan aim to insert a €20M clause at the end of the temporary stint, while the Merengues could ask for a little more or for an obligation to acquire him.

The Rossoneri remain keen on Olivier Giroud, but only if he manages to leave Chelsea for free. They received reassurances from his agents that it could still happen for non-Premier League clubs. After defining the permanent purchase of Sandro Tonali from Brescia, the brass is working on some sales. Diego Laxalt has drawn some interest from Dynamo Moscow. Mattia Caldara and Andrea Conti are unlikely to stay because Stefano Pioli prefers Matteo Gabbia and Pierre Kalulu.
