Milan’s Hopes of Landing Julian Brandt Handed Major Boost

Milan’s hopes of landing Borussia Dortmund playmaker Julian Brandt have received a massive boost. According to SempreMilan, the Bundesliga giants are open to the idea of letting the versatile forward leave on a paid loan with an option to buy.

Despite Brahim Diaz’s impressive displays at the beginning of pre-season preparations, the Rossoneri are in the market for a new creative attacking-minded midfielder to replace Hakan Calhanoglu. It makes perfect sense, considering the Spaniard played understudy to the Turkish star last season.

Brandt has emerged as the latest candidate to fill the void. The 25-year-old endured a topsy-turvy season at the Signal Iduna Park, struggling to claim regular first-team football. As a result, he is keen to leave North Rhine-Westphalia to reignite his career, and a move to Serie A is well on the cards.

After Lazio, Milan are now in the race to sign the German forward, with Paolo Maldini looking to agree on a loan deal with Dortmund. As per the latest reports, the Italian heavyweights are ready to table a bid of €5million for a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer for €22m.

Despite selling Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, Dortmund are ready to let Brandt leave. The Englishman’s departure was expected to open the space for the former Bayer Leverkusen starlet. However, it seems Die Borussen are not counting on the German playmaker anymore.

CSKA Moscow’s Nikola Vlasic looked like a more suitable candidate until a while ago, but it now seems Brandt could be Milan’s newest addition.
